"cool. how does one go about becoming one of those?"

"Uh..." I looked to Kuroi for support.
"It's simple. You just have to be a Shapeshifter that died and is neither accepted in Heaven nor Hell."

"oh. yes, easy. so. how do i get to be a shapeshifter?"

"Well, the true way to become a Shapeshifter is to have it in your blood when you die the first part of your life. A Shapeshifter can also turn a nonShapeshifter into one by sharing half its heart, which I can do, but..."

nah, don't worry about it. if i really want to be one i can get it from someone else

I smiled. "So after all those questions, you don't want to become a Howling anyway?"

"nope. I was just curious. I like being King Shade."

"So, what year is this?" I asked, as I looked around this new form of Earth.

3152 AD or 1140 years after the opening of the gates.

I raised an eyebrow and looked at Aidan. "The gates?"

"the permanent gates to the otherworlds. the gates that kept magic from earth. they opened in the year 2012, but it was so tragic, the magic flooding the planet, that not a lot of people recorded the exact date. i think it was some time around the Christian's 'Christmas'."

Kuroi chuckled. "Well, isn't that... interesting."
I gave him a warning glare, then turned back to Aidan. "You don't know what Christmas is?"

"not really. Christians kinda don't exist anymore. I hear it was something like the Wiccan Yule."

"Well, I guess it's something like that. So, where are we going again?"

"Egypt. there's a band of rogue demons there wreaking havoc. the leader is a very powerful demon called Ammit. it shouldn't be too hard to defeat her.

"Ammit? This sounds like fun." Kuroi said, smiling.
I crossed my arms. "Egypt, huh?" I transformed into demon form. "Well then, let's go."

"lets go" I then opened another portal straight to egypt and pushed Seth in, then walked in myself. when we arrived, it was a wasteland. not just because it was a desert, but the city was destroyed.

I sighed and stood, shaking dust off my fur as Kuroi and I surveyed the damage.
"Or we could travel through a portal." I mumble as I turn into human form again.
Kuroi looked at Aidan. "Is this all Ammit's mess?"

" I guess so. I'm not sure. but we might as well blame it on her. Do you know what city-- never mind. you wouldn't know." then on the horizon a dark cloud forms, with a sound like a thousand screeching voices in a hurricane. A demon horde, and at the lead, Ammit herself.
"let's begin, shall we?" Then I opened a portal to the Shade kingdom and let loose a swarm of my strongest warriors. Then i turned to Seth and Kuroi. "you and me take on Ammit. my warriors will take care of the rest of them. or at least most of the rest." Then I go Shadowform myself.

I grinned. "Ready when you are. I'll call upon the Howling if there's any trouble." Kuroi transformed into his own demon form, a dragon/cat mix, and took to the skies. I shook my head and sighed, then went after him.

As we flew toward Ammit, a group of demons broke off from the main group and intercepted us. "G'riok!"I yelled to the commander Shade. "Get these guys off us!" he sent a group of 3 flying shades to watch our backs as we continued towards Ammit.
Then she knocked us out of the air with one twitch of her finger.
"holy crap! Seth, zap her or something!"

"Right!" I growled and shot a large ball of ice at Ammit while Kuroi flew around her in circles, creating an electric tornado.

"Allright." I said as i got ready to shoot a huge blast of shadow energy at her.When it hit her, she disappeared. "there's no way that would've killed her....... "

Kuroi flew up beside me. "She's still around. I sense her presence."
