The Adventures of Sethstone and Aidan

"Yes, but the shapeshifters from my world can only shapeshift into one animal, and that is usually their spirit animal, if you're a wolf-bird hybrid spirit, that should be your form, not a cat." Then Earth melted into existence around us.

Kuroi and I looked around the new place with interest. "Well, where I come from, Shapeshifters live up to their name, and we are able to transform into anything, so long as it has a heart. My wolf-bird form is my true form. As for Kuroi..." He smiled at me. "I have no idea."

"Interesting. I'm going to have to find out how that works." Then I turn shade. Such an interesting feeling as the shadow creeps up my flesh. "hold still." I say. (he has a raspy voice when he goes shadowform) Then I jump towards him. I envelope him in shadow as he struggles against me. Then I possess him. I take a tiny peice of his soul and am about to examine it when I feel an amazingly strong presence next to me in his body.

"I forgot to mention," Kuroi said in a chilling voice, appearing next to our new friend, "I protect Sethstone from any demon or creature that attempts to posses him, so until I feel like it or if Seth asks me to, you're stuck right here."

".........not if I kill myself. I can enter the sprit realm at will. It's just a little hard trying to get back."

Both Kuroi and I laughed. "Try at your own risk, my friend. It won't do you any good."

"why is that?"

"Well, try, if you want to find out."

"Well, death is fun and all, but I'd rather not stay dead."

I nodded. "I wouldn't. After all, Kuroi can eat your soul, no matter what you do or where you go."

"Ah, ok then. that's interesting. so, will you let me go?

Kuroi appeared to give it some thought. "Maybe..."
I sighed. "Stop being overprotective. Let him go."

As I left I took a thread of his soul, so I could study it some and figure out how to do this guy's shapeshifting (in Adan's world, the person's power is in his/her soul. he doesn't know that shapeshifter powers are in the heart)

I breathed a sigh of relief as I gained control of my own body. Kuroi had appeared next to me in his human form (which looks like Sebastian from Black Butler, for now at least). He tapped me on the shoulder. "I think our friend has grabbed some of your soul."
I shrugged and looked at our friend. "By the way, we never got your name."

"Aidan Blackfeather," I said as I went back to human form. "And yes I took some of your soul, so I could study your shapeshifter qualities."

Kuroi and I just burst out laughing.

I raised an eyebrow."what?"

I forced myself to stop so I could explain. "The power of us Shapeshifters is in the heart. The soul only provides magic."

"Oh. darn. Well, you can have it back then" I said as I held out a glowing white ball of light.

I shook my head. "Nah, it's good. That little bit will regenerate soon enough."

"oh. ok." Then I ate it.

Kuroi just stared at him, almost no emotion in his face. "You're a Soul Eater, but yet you're not. What are you exactly, Aidan?"

"I'm a hybrid. Demon and human. A demon tried to possess me when I was younger, but he failed. Even King Shade couldn't get me. I have the natural power of light, and my light swallowed the demon shadow, and now I have his powers, and his kingdom." Then, just to show off, I summoned a small shade.

He chuckled and looked at me. "What about the Howling?"
I looked up at him. "It's not the same story, though." I turned back to Aidan. "In a battle against our creator, Sevukon, our third brother, Surrokumon, was killed. He passed on his leadership to me, and I am now the leader of the Howling." And with a few ancient words, the dragon Howling and second in command, Boneshadow, appeared next to me, his red eyes glaring at Aidan's shade.

"Wow. I only know of one dragon shaped shade in my kingdom. It's so hard to trap dragon souls in the demon shadow, they're so strong."
