The Shapeshifters

The humans have inhabited Earth for many years, evolving and changing their ways, creating new things to help improve their lives. But in the year 2017, everything they had worked so hard for, everything they’d done that had helped and hindered their world, has now gone to waste. The towns and cities they’d called home lie in ruins, and there’s nothing left but wasteland. Nobody knew what happened; everything was fine one minute, and the next they were struck by a mighty force that destroyed everything in its path. The humans desperately needed to find a new home, and so they turned to their Space Program to go find a new planet of which they could inhabit.
The astronauts of the Space Program set out beyond their galaxy and, after three years of searching, found a planet that looked just like Earth. They checked its atmosphere and saw that it was exactly like another copy of Earth. They flew back to report their findings, and people from all over the world gathered and took turns being transported to this new Earth. It took 32 years before everyone made it, and in that last year, 2052, the humans discovered that another group of multiple races had already inhabited this Earth; all of the mythical creatures that the humans had thought to not exist were living here, on a world they called Eartheria.
The leader of all these mythical beasts, a dragon named Taos, approached the humans and demanded to speak with their leader. The people didn’t know who to send out until a young woman, the one who first found Eartheria and was named Diana, stepped forward without fear and faced Taos. She explained how an unseen force had destroyed their homes and had taken many lives, and that they moved here, thinking it was uninhabited and would settle here, since it was exactly like Earth. The dragon gave this story some thought, and eventually agreed to accept the humans so long as they promised not to dirty up Eartheria like they did with Earth. Everyone agreed, and since then, the mythical creatures and humans have lived together in peace. But while the humans lived here, they noticed that one creature was missing, and the other beasts claimed this species no longer existed; the mysterious Shapeshifter.
These beasts were said to be the strongest and smartest of any creature that ever existed, and they could transform into any living being, even Pokemon. If one had the blood of the Shapeshifter within them, it is said they turn into a Shapeshifter whenever they die, and that whatever killed them in their past life is the only thing that can kill them now. These beasts also stay the age of which they died at. The humans were confused as to how this species died off, but they eventually just let it go.

Our story begins 18 years later, in the year 2070, and focuses on a young, famous human/cat hybrid thief named Sethstone Lataos. Unbeknownst to Seth, however, he has the blood of the Shapeshifter, and just when he thinks life is going easy, it gets flipped upside down. He is sent to the Shapeshifter homeworld, Kropiecta, and is then sent on a journey that will decide the future of the entire universe. Seth finds out that an evil is traveling across the worlds of the Shapeshifter galaxy, and this force is searching for the legendary Keys of Light. These keys are the only way to open the Heart of Darkness, which holds a force so powerful and dark, that the whole universe could be cast into Darkness if it's released. Will Seth and his new group of friends prevail, or will this evil force be too powerful to stop in time?

Name: Sethstone Lataos

Species: Formerly a Human/Cat hybrid, now a Shapeshifter
Side: Good
Appearance: Reaching to the height of about 6’3”, Sethstone (known as Seth for short) is a natural girl magnet, even though he doesn’t want to be. His hair is pure black, spiked, and reaches down his neck. It is bed head-like, which kind of gives him a sort of “stray cat” look. His eyes are a red violet, and his pupils are thin, like a cat’s. Seth also has three marks on his left eye that look like fresh scars, but they’re just markings, and he wears a chain necklace with a purple, diamond-shaped amethyst on it. The necklace fits around his neck like a collar, no matter what form he’s in.
The rest of him is fairly thin, but he’s not stick-thin. Although his arms are thin as well, they show a little bit of muscle. He has a large scar that goes diagonally across his heart from where one of the police caught him with a knife once. Seth usually wears a white, long-sleeved shirt with a black t-shirt over it. He also wears blue jeans that are ripped at the bottom and at the knees, and he has black and white tennis shoes.
Personality: Snappy, rude, and somewhat of an oblivious dimwit, Sethstone isn’t the brightest tool in the shed, but he is the sharpest (which means he's very easy to anger, so watch out!). Although he has a kind heart, his rage and annoyance can mask that kindness. He is also a bit overconfident as well as impulsive, and tends to hate being ignored if he thinks his views are the most important. Seth is a bit quick to judge others, especially if they’re part or a dog of some sort, but those who earn his trust gain a loyal partner and friend. And since Sethstone hides a fiercely caring heart beneath his angry exterior, nothing can stop him from risking his life to protect those he cares about.
History: Born on Eartheria the year the humans were accepted onto the planet, Seth always believed that the humans had lived with the mythical creatures forever. Tragically, his parents were killed when he was only 8, but the young hybrid didn’t give up on living. He’s lived his life as a thief, stealing at night in his cat form, and then walking around as a regular kid going to school during the day in his human form. The police didn’t know his name as a cat, so they never suspected Seth when he was in human form. He also had a group of friends that were the same species as him and who had also lost their parents, so it made stealing much easier and more like a game for them.
As he got older, however, Seth and his group of friends became more serious about surviving, and soon became the most famous and uncatchable group of cat thieves in town. Seth also seemed to have a rivalry with his Biology teacher, Cyrus Monroe, and the two were constantly giving off signs of hatred to each other, even though it was Cyrus who started it. Sethstone, however, didn’t let any of that bother him, for he tried to enjoy his life to the fullest. But, on that one night when he and his friends were escaping the police after having stolen two full bags of food, the hybrid slid and fell into a nearby river, drowning in the process from the fact that he couldn’t (and still can’t) swim very well in rushing water. His friends tried to help, but had to run since the police were right on them. And when Seth awakened, he found himself in a strange new world, and that’s where the story begins.
Powers: Can control ice and wind, as well as shapeshift into any living thing and can use telepathy. Also knows how to drive any vehicle, even if it's not from his world.
Weaknesses: Can easily drown in deep and rushing water; can also be momentarily paralyzed if stabbed in the heart; he also seems to have a hatred and small fear of dogs.
Other: Although he hasn’t realized it yet, Seth has a demon that has trapped itself within his soul, waiting for the right time to take control of the young Shapeshifter’s body and use him to fulfill its own nasty deeds.

Name: Dreyden Istalri
Age: 1303-ish
Gender: Male
Species: Half dragon, half human
Side: Good, but powers make him on the bad side sometimes.
Appearance: About 6' 5", very lean with some toned muscle development. He has deep, soft blue, spiky hair that reaches past his ears with two thin "tails" in the back. He has bright crystal-like red eyes and wicked red scars; two across his right eye and three claw marks running from his left cheek down to his collarbone. He also has an ugly silver scar on his chest, but very few people ever see it. He generally wears a black t-shirt, either plain or with a yellow lighting bolt on it, torn jeans or a pair of black pant, heavy black metal millitary-like boots, and a long dark brown overcoat. He also almost always wears dark blue fingerless gloves with metal "rings" around each finger and wrist, with a metal plate on the backs.
Dragon: VERY large, his head bigger than his human form is tall, with the same color of eyes and red scars. He looks more like the tradition european-type dragon (what comes to mind first when one thinks, "dragon") with bat-like wings and a wingspan of nearly two football fields. He has great, subtle golden-brown colored claws, four toes in front and two in back, and two same colored horns on his head as well as spikes that run from head to a spiked-out almost club-like tail at the end.

Personality: Quiet, watchful, typically an unemotional social recluse when he has nothing to do, but very smart with great crisis reflexes. When around friends, however, he's your typical goofball. Though oblivious sometimes, Drey is very witty, sometimes sarcastic, but overall good-natured and kind-hearted, with a surprisingly understanding and considerate heart.
History: Long ago, when he was still a fledgeling(about 10 in dragon years), Drey made a terrible and forever-life-changing mistake. Being a dragon-human hybrid, which not only is a sin against the dragon race but also rendered him less capable of his dragon powers, made his life not only harsh but a living hell. At the dragon age of 4 his mother, the only one who showed him any kind of love and understanding, died of an unknown cause, and since then he's been alone in his world. Fed up with being unable to do anything about his situation and all the harsh treatment he's received, Drey ran about from his home, and straight into the waiting arms of a sadistic scientist and alchemist by the name of Darcore Zaele. Lulled in by the promise of power and acceptance, Drey was tortured and experimented on until he became a wild and twisted creature of destruction, killling mercilessly and effortlessly with sadistic enjoyment. For 600 human years he lived like this, not knowing when he'll be called upon again to either kill or be painfully expirimented on further, until in one seige on the Dragon City had him witness the death of his little sister, Meiko Istalri. Drey was awakened then, with the full memory of everthing he had done. He never wanted that kind of life, and soon after he was recued from that place and was able to revert back to normal. But he would be forever scarred and haunted by his past, and has since then struggled constantly to control the monster he had become. His life now had even less purpose than when he started...until he met a sweet human girl named Kira, who further changed his life as well as the Laws laid down by the very first dragons forever.
Powers: Drey has control over all of the elements, but his main element is electricity. He can fight with all matter of weapons, but is most lethal with his fists, teeth, and claws. No electrical object is too much for him to manipulate, including a living body.
Weaknesses: What scares Drey the most is losing Kira, the girl he fell in love with and changed his life forever. What scares him second is him being the cause of her death. Third is himself. Fourth is Darcore. Fifth is needles. (lol) When Drey becomes a monster, the only thing that can stop him is silver plundged through his chest just above his heart. Though a sharp object will work, it wont allow him to revert to his normal self when it is pulled out. The scar on his chest is his biggest physical weakness; any harsh hit or dark exposure will awaken the monster within and force him to focus all his energy on containing, something that is very taxing. As a dragon, Obsidian is the most effective, and a plant known as DragonWeed renders all of his dragon powers nullified.
Other: He is really, really, REALY fast, and he has an older brother named Adriane. Oh,

Accepted, of course. So, where would you prefer to start the story?

Um, I'm not sure. Drey comes crashing in sort of at a random moment, so it's up to you where you want the setting to be. We could have it sort of the way The Disturbia Release started...Ooh, I got it! We'll start with Seth and Co. in town or whatever, and after he's learned about where he is and such and sort of grasping what the heck is going on, Drey will come crashing into appearance some distance away but close enough that everyone both saw and heard something, and we'll go from there. Sound good?
